Former VC in panel on consensual agreement
Venkataramaiah replaces H P Khincha, former V-C of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) who held the position in the 2011-12 academic year.
The former vice-chancellor of Kuvempu University, P Venkataramaiah, has been nominated to the single-member monitoring committee that ensures the implementation of the consensual agreement signed by the State Government and private colleges on sharing seats and charges fees for medical and dental courses.
The government will sign separate agreements with the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) and the Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Professional Colleges’ Association (KRLMPCA). Venkataramaiah’s primary function will be to ensure the implementation of the fee structure decided in the agreement. He will also have to ensure the implementation of regulations as entered in the agreement. In addiiton, his job will also require him to receive complaints about the agreement and resolve the disputes or differences, if any, among stakeholders after a due hearing.
