VTU reval rules and FAQ’s

A candidate can apply for revaluation of the answer scripts within 2 weeks from the date of announcement of results. The prescribed fee, at present, is Rs. 500 /- per paper. The applications for revaluation in the prescribed forms are to be submitted in the college with the prescribed fee within 2 weeks from the date of announcement of the results. All the applications of revaluation submitted in the college are to be countersigned by the Principal and a record of the applications is to be maintained in the college for future reference. The Principal shall send all the applications in one lot along with the D.D. for the prescribed fee to the Regional Office.
After the receipt of the applications for re-totaling and for revaluation in the Regional Office, the concerned officials appointed by the Registrar Evaluation on the recommendations of the Regional Director or In-Charge Special Officer shall pull out answer scripts of the candidates who have applied for re-totaling and revaluation. After completion of the re-totaling of answer scripts, the answer scripts, which are to be sent for revaluation, will be given new code numbers and title page of the answer script is either detached or completely masked by pasting paper. Answer scripts, after given the new code numbers and after masking the markings made by the Ist examiner, will be kept ready for revaluation. The answer scripts for revaluation will be sent to a place of valuation or the examiners are called to the examination centre as per the direction of the Vice-Chancellor. The re-valuation marks shall be entered in a separate facing sheet supplied by the University for each answer script. The examiner will be supplied with the original scheme of valuation for the subject and all the marks shall be entered in to a separate marks list for all the revalued scripts.
a) If the re-valuation marks are less than the original marks, then the original marks shall be retained.
b) The candidate is given the benefit of the revaluation marks in full if the difference between the original marks and re-valuation marks is 5% or within 5% of the maximum marks.
c) When the difference between the original marks and the re-valuation marks is above 5 and equal to or below 15 of the maximum marks, the first five marks are given in full and only 50% of the remaining excess marks will be added to the marks of the candidate. Any fraction of a number is rounded to the next full integer.
d) The average of the marks of nearest two valuations shall be considered as the marks secured by the candidate. However, if one of the three marks falls exactly midway between the other two, then the higher two marks shall be taken for averaging. If there is any change in the marks after the revaluation, corrected statement of marks card shall be issued to the candidate.

I have one more query, In case i don’t pass even after my reval (Hope not!) and write the exam the next time and score well.. Will they consider that for marks for the total percentage of 3rd sem or they won’t?

what is the revaluation rule for aotonomous college under VTU can I revaluate my 4th sem paper now, because at the end of 4th sem result my college dosen’t allow us to revalute our paper, now they are allowing only summer sem, how can it be so? shouldnt I give a chance to revaluate my back paper in 4th sem?

i need to appy for revaluation of seminar marks, i have never scored such a less marks of 35 out of 50 marks.. and even in project work , i got less marks definitely something has gone wrong, because of wich ill lose my rank, please help in this regard.im sure retotally or valuation , valued out of marks , something has gone wrong. 2009 pls reply urgently..M.tech student

Sir i have got NFTC for not clearing the exams in the three attempts,but that was due to ill health and today after treatment i am fine and i can take up any exams and clear the exams in 1st class and complete engineering with good aggregate,Sir i need only one chance to save,my career and can i have the chance and oppertunity of completing my Engeering course of 4 years in just 2 years,I have got letters from Governors themselves giving permission to be helped and even have documents to support my ill health,and let me assure u this these documents are not paid and buyed certificates there are true ones which i had sent to Governor as well…..Sir aren’t there any chance of considering my case a special case and given permission to complete my BE in 2 years….Sir the fact that i am quering this is the proof of what sort of a boy i am please send out a positive reply and i would be waiting eagerly……Thank you..

I had a back in just one lab in 3rd semester..
All semesters inc 3rd ,i have FCD.
Total aggregate after 8th semester is 81.2%
But i hate this university…
ruined 4 important years of my life,im not an engineer.Im just a guy with a bunch of certificates.

sir my friend has finished his engineering and he s 2010 pass out ….. he has a got a back now in 5th sem subject ….. will he have a year back ? . should he study everything again?. which sem will he be put to ? ………
if 5 subjects are back in 4th sem.. is it year back??
yes its an yr bak.. according to vtu rules u can carry only 4 subjects per yr.
How about the Lab exams?

If u r pretty confident in ur results, along wit re-valuation even go wit photo copy..
Hey frndz… I had one backlog which was a critical subject… Rest all subjects were cleared.. So, paid d fees and applied for reval hoping tat i may pass.. My bad luck, i couldn’t… Lost 1precious yr, But college ppl collected extra campus free nxt yr also.. Wt does d vtu rules say?? Waiting for ur reply…

yup,you can take re admission but u’ll have to complete your b.e within 8 years duration if not vtu will give not allow above that
I m currently writing mY 4th sem exam (mech)…i had one back in 1st sem m1 which i got because of lesser interal marks ….now i have written it and its critical subject….the thing is that i want 41 to clear it…m calculating my marks on the basis of how much i ve written and m getting around 42….now i also wrote my internal marks in the answer booklet….will the evaluator pass me….i mean if i end up getting like 40 then i would fail and get year back because of one subject….pls reply..

it means that you have got NSSR this happens due to low attendance or low marks in the lab internals

presently my result for caed exam is 0 when the results came out
i am damn sure that i wont get that much low marks in caed exam…my seniors all said that it could be an error
but for revaluvation i should pay rs5000…..but some of my seniors say even if we are doing lab in it…it is considered as a thery subject as the total marks is for 125 marks….and our other labs are in 75 marks…..
